This TEDx talk is worth watching.

Crystal: Angel Aura
Incense: Forest Mist
Magickal Anointing Oil: Expansion
Mini Spell Candle: Clarity and Vitality
Pendant: Angel Aura Quartz with Pink Tourmaline
Other Items: Pendant Cord
July’s Witches Bounty is one of my favorite curations to date. Angel Aura Quartz Goddess is the featured Book of Shadows Page and the artwork is divine. I love the background on the page, and while I typically do not resonate with angels, the goddess is beautifully rendered.
The crisp white intention-setting spell candle, for clarity and vitality, is dressed with a light dusting of glitter. The clean and pure energy is most welcome, in contrast to the Forest Mist incense, which has an overwhelming, cologne-like aroma that I do not care for.
Expansion magickal anointing oil has been prepared with rose, rosemary, and ylang ylang oils, with inclusions of rose, rosemary, mugwort, and a Lemurian quartz. Celestial Being magickal anointing oil from the Witches Moon’s personal cabinet of witchery has also been added. Expansion has an earthy, yet sweet, powdery aroma.
This month’s sublime centerpiece is an angel aura quartz pendant with pink tourmaline. My pendant is a mesmerizing spiderweb of swirling rainbows and reflections. I am truly awestruck at the beauty of this hefty jewel. The sterling silver setting has a pink tourmaline set into the bail and scrollwork on the back side.
A matching angel aura quartz crystal is included in The Open Gate’s offerings. My specimen is rather small, but lovely nonetheless.
Angel aura quartz is a gorgeous stone, and this pendant did not disappoint, which makes it even harder to say that the July box will be my last Witches Bounty. I have enjoyed receiving these pendants, and reviewing them, but cancer is not cheap and I have quite a few bills to pay. Thank you, The Witches Bounty, for an amazing 11 months of sacred adornments!
The Witches Bounty is a monthly subscription containing high-quality metaphysical jewelry. The current US price is $78 a month, including shipping.

The Leaden-Eyed by Vachel Lindsay Let not young souls be smothered out before They do quaint deeds and fully flaunt their pride. It is the world's one crime its babes grow dull, Its poor are ox-like, limp and leaden-eyed. Not that they starve; but starve so dreamlessly, Not that they sow, but that they seldom reap, Not that they serve, but have no gods to serve, Not that they die, but that they die like sheep.
Artwork: Cauldron Spirit Book of Shadows Art Print
Crystal: Blue Calcite, Blue Onyx, Opalite
Intuitively Drawn Tarot Card: Page of Pentacles from the Mystic Dreamer Tarot
Magickal Anointing Oil: Midnight Lavender
Spell Candle: Spirit of the Waters
Vials: Lavender, Mint, Rosemary
Other Items: Cast Iron Cauldron, Lavender Blossom Tea, Sea Mist Organic Soap
Spirit of the Waters, the July MidnightMuses offering, is the first box in a series that will focus on path work and shadow work: Over the next few months, MidnightMuses will focus on a series of path-workings/shadow-work that can help teach elemental work, along with techniques such as astral travel, dream work and divination. This month we focus on the Element of Water as a catalyst for transformation and healing. When we work with water, shadow begins to stir itself.
The Cauldron Spirit Book of Shadows page features a recipe, with all of the ingredients for the ritual included in the box. My tarot card for July is the Page of Pentacles – I will happily take it!
Several staple items are again included this month: a spell candle, crystals, incense, magickal anointing oil, and spell vials.
Spirit of the Waters, July’s hand-rolled beeswax spell candle, is a lovely hydrangea blue and includes a spell scroll. The blue calcite, blue onyx, and opalite match the candle perfectly to create a mystical blue landscape of stone and wax on my altar.
The lavender cone incense bundle includes a small silver metal incense holder for use in the cauldron that is featured this month. Vials of lavender, Mint, and Rosemary are also included for the Cauldron Spirit ritual.
Rounding out the staples, Midnight Lavender magickal anointing oil is blended with fennel, lavender, and rosemary essential oils. This lovely mixture has a gentle earthly lavender aroma.
The final three items included this month are a handmade soap, tea, and cast iron cauldron.
Blended with hyacinth, jasmine, and rose essential oils in a base of coconut, corn, olive, soybean, and sunflower oils, Sea Mist Organic Soap is a galaxy of shimmering scents. This beautiful soap also contains organic shea butter and water. The bag the soap is packaged in has a little seashell on one of the ribbons. I love this attention to detail!
While I am usually ecstatic to receive tea, I am not sure how I feel about the Lavender Blossom infusion. The listed ingredients are: hibiscus petals, orange peel, lemon balm, cloves, lavender, licorice root, and stevia. Two things I dislike in my tea are hibiscus and lavender, but I do enjoy orange peel and cloves so I will do a tasting at a later date. A small thing worth noting is that the label on the back of the tea pouch is for Hibiscus Zest tea. Not a big deal, I just happened to notice it.
I’ve saved the best for last – a small cast iron cauldron. What a nice surprise for a July box! There is not much I can say other than: heck ya cast iron cauldron! It is well-made and perfectly sized for a smaller altar, which is my current setup.
MidnightMuses continues to surprise me and I am happy with the variety of items I’ve received in each of the last two boxes. I raise a cup of tea to the August bundle and look forward to reviewing it next month!
MidnightMuses is a monthly subscription containing items that focus on “a romantic potpourri of magickal darkness & light”. The current US price is $29 a month, with a $6 shipping charge.
